I’ve loved photography for as long as I can remember, but I really got into the nitty gritty of things a number of` years ago when I was asked to teach it in high school. I set out on a path to learn everything I could by taking courses and studying the work of other artists. I graduated in 2017 from the Photography Institute in Vancouver with a diploma of professional photography. Additionally, I took two of their advanced courses for portraiture and weddings, though I prefer portraiture. Also, I took three of Greg Johnson’s weekend courses to improve my skills. I believe that photographs should make us feel or speak to us in some way, so I strive to capture the emotion in my photographs. I take my time so that I can achieve this goal.

Apart from photography, I am an avid reader and traveler. I love learning new things and meeting new people. I taught in The Netherlands for four years and while there, I took every opportunity to travel and practice the languages I have studied (French, German, Spanish, Italian, Dutch, Latin). I absolutely love everything about the author, Jane Austen, which may correctly suggest that I am into all things vintage, including photography. I am currently rereading all Jane’s works in French.

I am a woman of many interests and I look forward to the opportunity to get to know new people through my work in photography.

Hello Everyone!

My name is Lisa, and I’m a portrait photographer from Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan. I love all forms of art from photography to painting to writing, and more. My dream is to write and publish a novel, while working as a photographer. I recently retired from teaching (31 years), so I’m very excited to move forward with the next chapter of my life!
